Using AMVIC R33 ICF blocks as the main foundation, we were able to tie in the retaining wall to the ICF walls and pour it at the same time. This makes for a much stronger connection where the exposed concrete meets the ICF blocks on the corner. Cutting into the corner of the ICF blocks requires a significant amount of bracing as we completely compromise the strength at the block. This technique is not recommended for inexperienced ICF installers.
