We formed a conventional foundation for an off-grid home in the Salmon Arm area. This foundation will support a timber frame structure with straw bale’s used as insulation on the exterior walls. Using active and passive solar, the foundation was oriented to maximize sunlight and capture as much solar energy as possible. This home is not tied into the electrical grid and will be completely self sufficient.
